The Alabama/Gulf South Border Terrier Club was organized in 2009 to provide support and structure for a great deal of Border Activity being carried out individually in this area. The original focus of the club was to continue the earthdog tests that had been conducted for years by Pat Quinn at Foxley, her home east of Fairhope, Alabama.
The club activities and this web site have reflected this initial focus on earthdog. There is now occurring an expansion geographically as well as increasing interest in a broader range of activities such as breeding, conformation, agility, tracking, etc. A number of young people have become involved and are actively participating in earthdog and conformation, and are showing interest in other performance events.
To more closely represent the expansion taking place, this web site will continue to provide information about earthdog but will expand to cover other interests as they develop. This will be reflected by providing additional columns and links to information specific to those other interests.
Following the Earthdog tests in Nov 2013, several key leaders expressed a desire to turn over their responsibilities to others. Monica Errico stepped forward to serve as Earthdog Test Committee Chair and with the able assistance of veteran Test secretary Rebecca Coale, did an admirable job of planning and conducting the annual earthdg tests at the Escambia County Equestrian Center Nov 8&9 2014. and Nov 7&8 2015..
